23 September, 2008:

Toy Show Alert! This is a bit of a late notice, but you will be able to catch Toysandtoons at the Fifth Anual Action Figure Expo on Sunday September 28th. If you're in the Burlington, Ontario area...or want to make the drive up from Buffalo, NY or the drive down from Toronto, it should be a great show. Expect to see a good batch of Toysandtoons offerings. If you've only done ebay and online buying and haven't been to an event like this, you're missing out on one of the most fun aspects of collecting. Don't miss a chance to go out to a local show and mix it up with the other fans! Its great to see shows like this happening and we'd like to see it continue into the future. Definitely come out and say hello!

27 August, 2008:

We'd like to do some BUYING! We're aggressively looking for collections of 1980s toys available for purchase. Loose complete GI Joe, Thundercats, MOTU, and more. Let us know what you have. We're looking to put a sizable amount of money behind purchases which will give us HIGH GRADE AFA 85 and higher MOTU 8-backs and gift set/multi-packs. If you're looking to see what you can get for a collection, talk to Toysandtoons. We have always been serious about bringing the best of the best to the marketplace. If you find yourself in a position to sell some toys, we'd like to find ourselves in a position to have the opportunity to put some money in your pocket!

13 August, 2008:

Constant Updates! As always, keep checking back for updates. Recent finds added to the catalog include a MOTU Megator, some nice afa'd MOTU figures and a HUGE Batman animated collecion. We are currently photographing and cataloging the Batman items. This was one of the major successes of the early 90's whose style has, in some form or another, continued to remain popular through contemporary toy releases in the Justice League Unlimited Line. We have figures from way back in the begining of the "animated" style. A little factoid too-Bruce Timm, the main man behind the Batman Animated (and the entire DC Animated Universe which was subsequently developed), worked for Mattel on a number of the Later MOTU Mini comics. Pop an old copy of "The Search for Keldor" and take a look at the credits!

8 July, 2008:

A Weekend Update Is Coming Keep checking back daily as an update is planned for this coming weekend. This summer so far has been busy with trips and vacation in addition to toy show events so the updates have been slow, but keep an eye on the site as the updates will continue over the next few weeks!

1 June, 2008:

Big Update Check out the latest additions from Batman Returns, Batman Animated, Some vintage He-man items, M.A.S.K., and even an LJN Indiana Jones from the short lived, but very popular Temple of Doom line.

4 May, 2008:

Server Change...Finished! We are now back to normal and all email is working. If you sent any email over the last week, we did not get it. Please resend if you have any questions.

28 April, 2008:

Server Change...Almost Finished The catalog should now be working. All images should appear and you should be able to log in just fine. At the moment, email is still not 100% up and running yet. Again, please check back for updates...

27 April, 2008:

Server Change Toysandtoons.com is currently undergoing a server change. You may experience having log in trouble over the next day or so, but we assure you, we'll be back up and running very soon. I believe you should have no problem viewing pictures and checking out our info, but the log in and order system may not work for a day or so. Our email my be knocked out for a day or so too...Check back for updates.

05 April, 2008:

Toy Show Weekend This weekend Peter will be at two toy show events. Today (Saturday) in New Castle, Delaware at the "April Fools" Show (http://www.toyshows.org/aprilfools.htm). 15 February, 2008:

Huge Vintage He-man Update Today is a big day for our he-man section! A massive collection just came in and we're going through it to get everything up into the site catalog as quickly as possible. Within this collection are some top level rare pieces and some more common fan favorite characters. The pricing on these is designed to help people pick up some characters they're looking for without breaking to bank. I don't want to mention specifics here in the news post for fear that by the time people read the news, the items will be gone, but there are some bargains to be had!

When you're looking for he-man online, chances are you've been to ebay and you've taken a look at what other sellers have out there. When you get down to it, the current toysandtoons catalog is probably one of the most, if not the most packed catalog out there right now. We want to remind everyone that toysandtoons is not a traditional "retail store" where we can re-order these items from a distribution center. We're more of a gallery setting. We invite you to look through the site, have some fun remembering old toys, and, should you find something you want, you can place an order. We do this for the enjoyment of the toys and characters and to keep on top of the changes in the collector market with professionalism and honesty. If we didn't love these toys, we wouldn't be here.

I want to remind all Thundercats fans that there is a custom figure contest going on RIGHT NOW at the Thundercatslair.org site. Toysandtoons is throwing a prize into the pool, but they haven't gotten many people to sign up yet. IF you're interested, get your name in the hat now! If there isn't enough interest, the contest MAY be called off. This is a great oportunity for the creative toy artists out there to establish themselves and possibly win a prize. With so few entries, it gives you more of a shot at winning!

5 February, 2008:

Thundercats 8-backs, custom figures, and Toysandtoons.com goes International First, we want to let you know the newest additions to the Toysandtoons catalog have been added. These are 8-back Thundercats from the collection of Toysandtoons.com founder Andrew McCabe. While he has no desire to sell this collection, he has agreed to list them here under pressure from the Oven Chips Productions crew, knowing that if these figures sell, the money gained will help fund production on the Redneck Space Track cartoon. These are from the personal collection of, arguably, the largest Thundercats fanboy on the planet. While we'd rather not embarrass Andrew by noting the justification for this title, we're sure if you poke around the Toysandtoons about us page, you will see a few of his geeky Thundercats credentials.

Toysandtoons.com (in conjunction with Oven Chips Productions, producers of the upcoming cartoon Redneck Space Track) is also one of the sponsors for the first Thundercatslair.org Thundercats Customs Contest. We're hoping to see some killer custom figures from one of our favorite 80s 'toons. Check out their message board for all of the rules and details. Toysandtoons will be tossing a MOC Thundercats Miniatures "Weapons Pack" into the prize pool for the contest! If you have the artistic abilities and wish to show off some of your crazy skillz, here is your chance to make an impression on the fan community and win some cool prizes. In addition to the Toysandtoons prize, there will be some other prizes, including a grand prize: an original piece of artwork featuring Cheetara by Mark Royer. This artwork was actually used in the production of the recent Thundercats season 1, volume 1 dvd boxset. Best of luck from Toysandtoons to all competing!

Now, as many of you know, Toysandtoons has been all up and down the east coast buying and selling toys. We have been in Canada before on buying trips, but now, we're announcing here, for the first time, Toysandtoons.com will be selling at a booth at the 2008 Canadian 80s Toy Expo on March 16th. The show location is right of the QEW in Ontario and offers free parking to show attendees. This will mark the first time we have had a sales platform at an event outside of the United States. Its Toysandtoons history in the making folks. Check out their site, get your travel plans arranged now, and don't miss the show!

31 January, 2008:

Major Ghostbusters Update Pete just went through the site and added a BUNCH of classic Real Ghostbusters figures. Just about everyone knows this line and a number of both the early and late figures are nearly impossible to find at this point. When you look at toys from the 1980s, this line had it all-the heroes, the villians, fun vehicles, role play toys, and an awsome firehouse playset. We've been looking forward to listing ghostbusters and the time has arrived.

29 January, 2008:

FX Show 2008 Conclusions The FX Show has once again come and gone and things are settling down for the toysandtoons crew. All orders that were placed while Pete was away have now been invoiced. Expect to see some more "www-toysandtoons-com" auctions on ebay soon as well. Andrew has been trying to sell off a few things here and there on ebay using that id and will continue to do so for the foreseeable future.

For those who were in attendance at the FX Show, I am sure you had an awsome time. For anyone who missed it, you can check out the Redneck Space Track site by clicking on the image below to see some of the celebreties and costumed fans who ventured over to the Oven Chips booth. The image below shows from left to right Brian "Stripes" Taber (Oven Chips animator), Andrew McCabe (Oven Chips Producer and, of course, Toysandtoons web dude), Steve Cardenas (the red ranger from Power Rangers: The Movie), Jason David Frank (the green/white MMPR ranger, Red Zeo Ranger, and Black Dino Thunder Ranger), and Kyle Lince (Oven Chips Producer). We all had an awsome time at the show and can't wait for next year to roll around for another FX event in orlando.

21 January, 2008:

Away for the FX Show Peter will be away from the night of tuesday the 22nd through monday the 28th. Emails will go unanswered until he returns and all orders placed on the website will begin to be processed at that time. You can still place orders on the site, but you will not get invoiced with a shipping total until he is back in NY. You can still give him a ring on the phone number posted at the top of the page to reach him on his cel phone while we're at the FX Show.

If you are in the Orlando, FL area make sure you drop into the show and say hello. Remember, Andrew will be at the show all weekend long doing early promotion for a late night animated series which is currently in production. He will also have some 80s style character art for sale. Stop in at the creators alley and look for the big Redneck Space Track banner.

16 January, 2008:

Thundercats updating nearly complete We got a huge spike in traffic when we listed new items in that massive Thundercats update. We're glad everyone continues to check out the site on a regular basis and we can continue to get interest from members of the classic/vintage toy collecting community.

2008 FX Show Here we are...its January again and Toysandtoons will be stopping in at the FX Show in Orlando, Florida...The show runs from January 25th to the 27th and is held in the Orange County Convention Center. You will see Pete walking around on Friday and Saturday (watch for his Toysandtoons.com tee-shirt) and you can see Andrew all weekend along with Kyle Lince at the Oven Chips Productions booth. Stop in, say hello and, if you're lucky, get a peek at some 80s character artwork while you pick up a Redneck Space Track early promotion tour card. Want to talk about 80s or 90s toys and 'toons? Come on over!

11 January, 2008:

THE Thundercats Update For some time, people have been asking about our carded thundercats catagory since it hasn't really shown a whole lot of product...well...today is the big day. If you're a Thundercats fan looking to build a collection, we can get your off to a great start! Thundercats are one of those oddities in collecting 80s toys. The property was a HUGE success, but the demand at retail was met accurately by the manufacturer. One of the reasons the collecting of lines like He-man, Star Wars, and GI Joe (and getting into later years, Ninja Turtles and Power Rangers) is so widely popular is that many toys were produced in such high numbers...people have found sealed cases from those toylines just waiting to be sold. While, of course, any line has its jems that only the top collectors manage to aquire, those lines all have an accessible "starting point" that prompts people to get started innitially.

"Thundercats" has always been a line collectors have struggled to complete and the extreme rarity of items like the companions series, the third series villians, and the laser sabers has been offset by people still struggling to aquire the "basics" in the main heroes...and thats not even addressing the issue of condition. With other lines its easy to locate AFA 80 peices, with thundercats, you're LUCKY, and I mean LUCKY to pull an 80 on anything! With the large cards, fragile nature of yellowing 8 back bubbles prone to crack easily, heavy toys like grune and snowman sealed in the bubbles which easily seperate from the cards...well...you don't see many high grade examples floating around. Again, many collectors find this extreme after market rarity odd for a line based on a cartoon that ran for a whopping 130 episodes, including several multi-part stories, an incredible licensing property success (backpacks, board games, puzzles, lunchboxes...I could definitely go on), even a live stage show with a run on broadway, etc. We are constantly asked why thundercats are so tough to get given their popularity and successful run on top of the boys market in 1986. The reality is LJN did not overproduce the line when it was sold at retail as many other manufacturers tended to do (and continue to do to this day). This led to very few high grade examples, either moc or loose, floating around for purchase in the collector market today...

So, we at Toysandtoons are very excited to roll out a well stocked inventory of Thundercats in one big shot. We even have loose Thunderwings Lion-o and Luna Lasher Mumm-Ra figures...You're talking about something on the level of a Laser Power He-man/Laser Light Skeletor find here... Remember, we are collectors too...we know what's out there on the market. I don't think you'll see a catalog like this out there elsewhere. These toys have all been in storage for years! We have no idea how fast they will go, but while they are around, enjoy looking through one of the largest catalog listings we have done so far on this site!

10 January, 2008:

10 Years of Toysandtoons! Yeah, thats right. Toysandtoons has been around in some form or another since late 1997. This page started as my Thundercats fan site. Later adopting the name Toysandtoons, the site continued to serve as a primary resource for Thundercats toy collectors as it grew to include info about other toylines. The site eventually shifted to more of a webstore format, and a lot of our information was shared with other sites. Much of the old Toysandtoons archived Thundercats info ended up being incorporated into the Thundercatslair.org site, for example. Now that we have expanded beyond being a "one-man-operation", and we feel it has gone well with Pete filling all website orders and me controlling the technical operations of the website, we're now looking to get back into including non-store features like informational articles, picture galleries and other content. I have in my hands right now, a collection of artwork and text materials sent from Lorimar Telepictures to networks which aired the syndicated Thundercats cartoon. Its probably 200 pages of printed material no one in the fan community has really ever seen before. Its stuff like this that we would like to feature. As far as the store goes, we have been slowly filling in additional catagories and looking to keep our catalog up to date at all times. Nothing annoys us more, as collectors, than going to an online store and seeing a whole lot of cool stuff listed as "not in stock" or "sold out" within the online catalog. We're doing what we can to ensure that when you click on our catalog, you'll only be seeing items we have on hand to sell to you. We have also talked about trying to get some kind of exclusive products going too. We're looking to have another exciting year in 2008.

--Andrew

25 December, 2007:

The "Unexpected" Suprise Its not much, but here is one of the classics lemons in the genre of Christmas movies. Toysandtoons.com presents the 1964 film, Santa Claus Conquers the Martians! So sit back with some eggnog along with family and friends to crack jokes at the expense of one of the worst christmas movies ever made. Its so bad its good...well...actually...its pretty bad...have fun...

26 November, 2007:

Cyber Monday Today kicks off the big holiday shopping rush for online merchants. We're not a major "retailer" of course, but to kick off the holiday season for 2007, we updated our look early this morning.

Keep checking back frequently! We're planning to update a number of catagories in our catalog with new items during this holiday season.

We also invite you to stop in on December 25th for something...unexpected.

5 September, 2007:

AMAZING eBay auctions This is it, some items from one of the Toysandtoons.com owners' personal collection are currently availible on ebay. These items are being sold to help fund some future projects being put together by our web guy, Andrew. Andrew asks for you to take a look and see if there is anything you're interested in. Check out the current auctions. This is a rare oportunity to aquire pieces that have been in a private collection for nearly a decade.

25 August, 2007:

MAJOR He-man and GI Joe Updates! We're in the process right now of updating both He-man and GI Joe. You can expect to see many new listings added to the catalog over the next couple of weeks. This is a "heads up". If you don't have us bookmarked already, be sure to add us to your favorites now and check back every day to stay on top of our updates.

Don't forget our last update. We've been getting into Ninja Turtles and Power Rangers listings. You can expect us to continue to be a growing source of the favorite toy character properties from the 1990s as time passes.

23 July, 2007:

TMNT LogoMAJOR Power Rangers Update! We just listed around 150 Power Rangers items including exactly 100 unique, new catalog titles. This brings the Toysandtoons.com catalog to 1130 unique listings as of this writing. We plan to continue to work with getting more Power Rangers items listed on the site. This was the top selling retail line in boys toys for a few years in the early nineties. The Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers introduction sparked a cross generational cultural phenomenon. Regardless of age, the majority of people can now recognize a "Power Ranger" as easily as they can a "Ninja Turtle" or a "Transformer".

Don't forget our last update. We are definitely off and running with our Turtles section after adding around 100 items just under a week ago. If you haven't been checking out site daily, you may have missed the update!

Keep checking back frequently as we have more to add and more planned for the site. We will continue to list new items all the time, while we're updating. We're working hard behind the scenes to bring Toysandtoons.com to the next level.

18 July, 2007:

TMNT LogoNinja Turtles Update! We just listed around 100 carded Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles from the 1988-1999 lines. This is a favorite toyline of ours. It bridged the gap between the classic 80's lines and the more modern 90's lines as it evolved over the years. We'll get into many of the thoughts and details surrounding the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles toyline in the future.

19 June, 2007:

TMNT LogoNinja Turtles Have Arrived! Our anticipated Ninja Turtle section is finally up and running. We have just listed 50 loose complete ninja turtles items! We will be giving the Ninja Turtles the full Toysandtoons.com treatment, covering loose, carded, boxed, prototypes, original art, and more. Keep checking back if you're a turtles fan. We will definitely have more in the future.

Don't forget our M.A.S.K. update! While we didn't make a big announcement on the front page, we did just add several pre-production items from Kenner's classic M.A.S.K. Toyline. Check the "Other 80's" catagory on the left to check them out.

What's Next?We have a Mighty Morphin' Power Ranger hanging out in our page banner for a reason...Keep checking back if you're a Power Ranger fan as we will soon start a section for one of the cornerstones in 90s toys.

31 March, 2007:

TMNT Movie LogoAs slow as a turtle... The opening of the new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie has already passed, and Toysandtoons is behind on listing. We were planning a big listing of turtles to coincide with the new movie opening, but I am afraid scheduling conflicts prevented this from happening. We are now expecting to see the Turtles section open up towards the end of May. In the meantime, we are continuing to add new items from the lines we already carry. Keep checking back as we expand our catalog.

2 February, 2007:

FX LogoFX Show 2007 Conclusion 2007's FX Show is already in the past and Toysandtoons welcomes our new visitors to the site. We hope you enjoyed our booth at the show and invite you to look around and enjoy the site. Many visitors to our booth got the first viewing of our new business cards, which can be seen here. You are seeing the front and back of each card. We thought these cards would be a fun way to show the kind of product we offer. Visitors at the show were invited to choose their favorite card and you fans may be interested to know we saw a near 50/50 split in people's favorite style. When we run out of these, we'll get something new made up.

FX Show GuestsWe received late word that, unfortunately, Jake Roberts would be unable to attend the FX Show, but we were able to bring in a couple of wrestlers at the last minute. On Sunday we had Chasyn Rance who is very active on the independent wrestling scene (see him at the next UXW Show-Tickets available online) and “The Living Legend” Larry Zybisco drop in at our booth. Wrestling fans certainly know the Living Legend from his days with the AWA, WCW, and most recently, TNA. Former WWF Superstar King Kong Bundy (who was at the show with City Limits Tattoos) stopped in at the Toysandtoons booth as well and was gracious enough to pose for a quick picture with our booth's guests. We enjoyed having the wrestlers at our booth and hope to continue to bring guests to future events.

20 January, 2007:

Jake \FX Show 2007 Update As reported earlier, Toysandtoons will be attending the 2007 FX Show on January 26-28 in Orlando, FL. We are now announcing a very special guest will be appearing at our booth on Saturday for autograph signing and pictures. You can meet Professional Wrestling Legend Jake "The Snake" Roberts! Fans of wrestling certainly know this man from his long history in the business. He has been in the ring with all the greats, appearing in WWF, WCW, WWE, TNA, and many other promotions over the years. He will be at the FX Show with Toysandtoons to promote the upcoming UXW Show in Orlando Florida on February 24th. For more information on this event, head over to the Official UXW Site. If you are in the Orlando Area, this should be a great show. The card is packed with big name tallent including Kevin Sullivan, Steve Corino, D-Lo Brown, and Axl Rotten. You'll also get a chance to see future star of pro wrestling "The Raw Superstar" Nick Berk and the unforgettable Masked Maniac in action. The show is being headlined with Jake Roberts vs. Raven. If you're in the area, definitely check it out!

Toysandtoons will be somewhere in the area of booth 814-817. We are traveling with a few other people so we're not sure of exact booth assignment yet, but it will be one of those numbers. You'll find us near the "Creators Alley" area of the show. We will be debuting new business cards at the show and will be easily recognizable by our Toysandtoons.com logo tshirts. If you see us at the show, stop by and say hello.

12 January, 2007:

FX Show 2007 Toysandtoons will be attending the 2007 FX Show on January 26-28 in Orlando, FL. We will be bringing a sampling of items from the various lines we carry. We expect to have some vintage Ninja Turtles with us and we haven't even begun to catalog those on our site. There is a good chance we'll have items that have not yet been added to the site from many other lines as well.

We have been working hard build Toysandtoons behind the scenes and it should be apperent at this show. We will be handing out our new business card to anyone who stops by our booth and we're always happy to talk about Toys and 'Toons. This page will be updated again once our booth number is finalized.

20 September, 2006:

Changes, Updates, and Beyond You may have noticed recently that our shopping cart and member login was removed for around a week. The system has now been updated removing some of the features of the store software that we were not planning to use to make the design simpler for navigation. We're now back and running with the shopping cart and have also added our phone number for customers interested in asking questions about orders or specific items. We can not take orders over the phone, but we wanted to give users an easier way to contact us about items for sale.

We've been working hard to get the Toysandtoons.com online catalog stocked, but you're still seeing only the beginning stages of the catalog. We have yet to even get into some of the lines we plan to feature such as Playmates' classic Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles line. Keep checking back because we still have thousands of items to list and we constantly add new items to our inventory. We expect to have a major photography session take place sometime in late october where for two or three days we will do nothing but photograph item after item to add to our catalog.

Toysandtoons.com, as a catalog for our sales, is only the beginning of where we see Toysandtoons.com headed. Our web guy, Andrew, has been working on developing new content management software for small businesses. This software, to be released commercially as part of fusekey.com's business service packages, will be making an early debut here on Toysandtoons.com. One of the main features of this software is that it allows a website administrator to assign writers to the site staff. These writers will then be able to log in and add featured articles to the website including picture and video content. In the case of Toysandtoons.com, the software will create an environment where we can continue to grow as a source of information for the collecting community.

We are very excited to see where Toysandtoons.com is headed. Please continue to check back for new additions to our catalog and updates on the expansion of the site into new directions.

22 June, 2006:

Welcome to the NEW Toysandtoons.com! It has taken a great deal of work to make this website into what you are seeing today...and its not over yet. We will constantly be adding merchandise to our catalog as time passes. Please read all of our information in the box on the right hand side of your page. This will tell you what the new Toysandtoons.com is all about, how to place orders, our policies, and all of the other information you will need to know to fully navigate our website.

If you are browsing our catagories, please understand we have an inventory of thousands of items to add. If you see an empty catagory its not because we have no items from that toyline, but rather it is because we haven't added them to the online catalog yet. Please check back regularly as we will be adding new items on a frequent basis to fill our catalog.

This is just the begining of what Toysandtoons.com will have to offer its viewers. We have many things planned, many items to add to our catalog, and we're looking forward to many years of offering collectors the best of what is availible in vintage toy lines!
